PHOTOCONDUCTIVE PICTURE FORMING MEMBER WITH ASYMMETRIC SQUARE LINE COMPOSITION

PURPOSE: To obtain a photoconductive image forming member having stable properties and capable of ensuring low dark attenuation characteristics and increased electric charge accepting value when it is incorporated into a photoconductive device by forming a light emitting layer contg. specified cyclized squaraine and a positive hole transferring layer on a substrate. CONSTITUTION: A light emitting layer contg. cyclized squaraine represented by formula I and a positive hole transferring layer are formed on a substrate. In the formula I, each of R1 and R2 is alkyl or H, each of R3 and R4 is alkyl or benzyl, X is H, hydroxyl, alkyl, alkoxy or halogen and (m) is a number of 0 to about 3. The squaraine is synthesized by cycloaddition polymn. and the use of expensive squalanic acid as a reactive reagent can be avoided.
