Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To provide a means for sending status change notification to a link level facility to be affected by a status change generated in a computer I/O system. CONSTITUTION: The computer I/O system includes a dynamic switch 10 having plural ports and plural link level facilities added to these ports. When the state of one port or its additional link level facility is changed so as to exert effect upon its capacity capable of communicating with other facilities, the fact is recognized by a dynamic switch control unit 20 and a status change notification(SCN) frame is sent to all other link level facilities to be affected. Each link level facility receiving the SCN determines whether relation or latent relation with the link level facility generating the notification is affected or not.
