Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To detect the deterioration of an optical transmission line and a light transmitting and receiving circuit quickly before the occurrence of the failure of reception. CONSTITUTION:An optical signal is converted into the electric signal with a photoelectric conversion circuit 1. The amplitude level of the analog signal which is amplified with an amplifier circuit 2 is detected with an amplitude detecting circuit 4. The amplitude level is converted into the digital value with an A/D converter 5 for every specified period. The values are stored in memory circuits 6 and 7. The digital values before and after every specified period are compared in a comparing circuit 8. When the change occurs, an alarming signal is outputted.
