INPUT/OUTPUT INTERRUPT HANDLING SYSTEM FOR VIRTUAL COMPUTER

PURPOSE:To effectively use the operation time of a real computer even at the time of waiting due to execution of an interrupt wait instruction on a slave operating system (OS). CONSTITUTION:When the interrupt wait instruction is executed on the real computer, the control is transferred to the input/output interrupt handling program of a master OS after interrupt for report of the end of input/output processing (steps 1 to 4). When the interrupt wait instruction is executed on a virtual computer, the control is transferred to an input/output interrupt handling program of a corresponding slave OS at the time of the interrupt for report of the end of input/output processing (steps 5 to 8). If the interrupt for report of the end is not caused yet, the control is transferred to a virtual computer control program (VM monitor) (step 9).
