SUPERCONDUCTING ELECTROMAGNET

PURPOSE:To suppress the generation of displacement in a superconducting wire by the electromagnetic force in the axial direction working to the side of outside diameter by a method wherein a protective resistor is formed from wire material as a resistance wire, and this wire material is wound around the outside diameter of a ring coil. CONSTITUTION:Unit protective resistors 31A, 31B to 35A, 35B, on which wiring material having circular cross-section is wound as a resistance wire, are arranged respectively on the outside diameter side of a plurality of ring coils 11A, 11B to 15A and 15B. To be more precise, protective resistors consist of wire material as a resistance wire, and this wire material is wound on the outside diameter of the ring coils 11A, 11B to 15A and 15B. Also, the protective resistors 3 consist of unit protective resistors 31A, 31B to 35A and 35B which are parallel-connected respectively to the ring coils 11A, 11B to 15A and 15B, and they are wound around the outside diameter of the ring coils 11A, 11B to 15A and 15B, on which the unit protective resistors 31A, 31B to 35A and 35B are parallel-connected. As a result, the displacement of a superconducting wire by the electromagnetic force in the axial direction, working to the outside diameter side, is suppressed.
