Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To constitute so that an outer cover can not be closed unless a guide plate is returned to its original position in a paper passage guiding device of a copying machine in which an outer cover is opened and then a guide plate is opened to remove a jammed paper sheet when a paper jam occurs but closing of the outer cover while forgetting to return the guide plate to its original position may cause a repeated paper jam. CONSTITUTION:Constitution is made so that an outer cover 19 can not be closed unless a guide plate 12 is returned to its original position in conjunction with a rack 20, which moves in linkage with the opening action of the guide plate 12, or a first or a second obstructing member functioning as an obstructing member of outer cover closing action, so as to eliminate forgetting of closing a guide plate 12, to prevent repeated occurrence of a paper jam and to improve reliability of a copying machine.
