RADIOACTIVE WASTE DISPOSAL SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To dispose radioactive waste more rationally by measuring and classi fying vastly generated concrete waste in advance, on dismantlement of buildings of a nuclear power generating facility. CONSTITUTION:After removal of contaminated radioactive equipments, accurate measurement 2 of surface contamination radioactivity and another accurate measurement 3 of contamination permeation are conducted for floors, walls and roofs of the building structures, in order to judge 4 whether concrete to be measured is radioactive or not. In case that the concrete is radioactive, the radioactive concrete is removed 5, and the removed concrete is treated by putting 6 it into a container, or the like. Subsequently, according to the activity level of the radioactive concrete, treatment A 7 or treatment B 8 is selected and conducted. After removal of the radioactive concrete, the above procedure is repeated for the remaining part, and the concrete that is judged to be not radioactive is dismantled and removed 9 with the waste that is already judged to be not radioactive by the first judgement, to be disposed 10 as ordinary waste (re-usage).
