AUTOMATIC GAS CUTTING METHOD

PURPOSE:To prevent the poor quality from occurring by calculating the moving quantity of the material to be cut generated with the heat deformation, etc., of an edge-scrap during cutting, and stopping the cutting if the movement is large, on the case for executing the gas cutting automatically. CONSTITUTION:An end surface detecting device to detect the end surface of the material to be cut is connected to an automatic gas cutting machine which can store the cut beginning position and the cut finishing position as the two-dimensional coordinates, and the distance of the coordinates of the cut beginning position of the end part of the material to be cut detected with the end surface detecting device and the coordinates of the cut beginning position stored preliminarily is calculated. If this distance is larger than a certain value, the material to be cut is considered so that it is moved during putting with any cause, and the cutting is stopped.
