Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To provide a composition that contains natural efomycins A, E or G and reduces or prevents acute or chronic inflammation or ischemic condition. CONSTITUTION: This composition contains a compound of formula I [R is methyl and R is formula II (efomycin A); R is methyl and R is formula III (efomycin B); or R is H and R is formula III (efomycin B)]. This composition reduces or completely inhibits adhesion of leukocytes to endothelia of vessels, brings about subsequent undesirable processes, for example, release of radicals which do not contain oxygen, or formation or weakening of cells of foam, and is suitable for treatment and prevention of necrosis of tissues after acute myocardial infarction.
