Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To stabilize a magenta coupler and a corresponding image dye in a photographic material by using a specified compd. containing a benzoyl group. CONSTITUTION: The compd. expressed by the formula is used for stabilizing substantially all type magenta coupler in the photographic material. These couplers may be, for example, a simple 1-aryl-5-pyrazolone or a pyrazole deriv. fused to a five-membered heterocycle, for example, imidazopyrazole, pyrazolotriazole or pyrazolotetrazole. In the formula, R is a hydrogen atom or a hydroxyl group, R1 is 1-18C alkyl or alkoxy group.
