Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To provide a new platinum/graphite catalyst having a long service life and a high selectivity, providing a satisfactory space time yield, with little activity-loosing property, having a uniform and high activity, and particularly suitable for hydrogenation. CONSTITUTION: This platinum catalyst contains 0.01 to 5 wt.% platinum content on a graphite carrier having 1.7 to 2.2. g/ml apparent density, 50 to 250 N/mm compression strength, 1 to 40% porosity, 1 to 30 m /g BET surface area, 1 to 600 μm particle size and the following particle size distribution: 183 to 600 μm 15 vol.%±15% absolute 68.3 to 183 μm 30 vol.%±20% 31.0 to 68.3 μm 25 vol.%±20% 17.1 to 31.0 μm 15 vol.%±10% 5.2 to 17.1 μm 12 vol.%±10%
