OXALYLAMINO ACID DERIVATIVE, METHOD OF ITS PREPARATION AND ITS USE AS DRUG FOR INHIBITION OF PROLINE HYDROXYLASE

PURPOSE: To provide an oxalylamino acid derivative useful as a medicine for inhibiting proline hydroxylase and lysine hydroxylase. CONSTITUTION: This oxalylamino acid derivative is a compound of the formula [R and R' are each a 1-6C alkyl or H; R is H or a 1-4C alkyl; R is H, a 1-6C alkyl, a 1-3C alkoxy, carboxyl, a 1-6C alkoxycarbonyl, an aryl, SH, NH2 or a halogen (with the proviso that the alkyl can be substituted by an aryl, O, H, SH or NH2 ); both R and R form a 2-4C alkylene chain by bonding each other], a D- or L-form compound thereof and a salt thereof, e.g. (N-oxalyl)- L-alanine dimethyl ester. A preparation includes the oxalylamino acid derivative as an active ingredient. The preparation is useful as a medicament having activities for inhibiting fiberization and/or immunity, or affecting metabolism of collagen and a collagen-like material or biosynthesis of C1q.
