Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To provide a control method of a drive motor of a pile-lifting device in a sheet-fed printing machine for softly accelerating and braking a pile, to shorten the braking distance, and to rapidly load sheets. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided a motor 15 which has large rated torque and small rated number of revolution in a first mode of operation A, and small rated torque and large rated number of revolution in a second mode of operation B. When the motor 15 is switched on to lift or lower the pile, the first mode of operation A is selected, and when the number of revolution exceeds a specified value during the lifting, and when the number of revolution does not exceed a specified value during the lowering, the mode of operation is switched to the second mode of operation B after a given period of time following the starting-up.
