A particulate graft polymer comprising A: from 30 to 80% by weight of at least one elastomeric polymer A having a mean particle size of from 30 to 1000 nm and made from - based on A - A1: from 85 to 99.8% by weight of at least one alkyl acrylate A1 having 1 to 8 carbon atoms in the alkyl radical, A2: from 0.1 to 5% by weight of at least one polyfunctional, crosslinking monomer A2 and A3: from 0.1 to 10% by weight of at least one monomer A3 containing one or more acidic groups, or A11: up to 100% by weight of a diene A11, A12: up to 50% by weight of at least one vinyl aromatic monomer A12 A13: up to 10% by weight of at least one monomer A13 containing one or more acidic groups, as the graft base, and B: from 20 to 70% by weight of a graft shell B which is grafted on to the elastomeric polymer A and is made from - based on B - B1: from 50 to 89.9% by weight of at least one vinyl aromatic monomer B1, B2: from 10 to 49.9% by weight of at least one polar, copolymerisable, ethylenically unsaturated monomer B2 and B3: from 0.1 to 10% by weight of at least one monomer B3 containing one or more basic groups. i
