DYEABLE METALLIC LUSTROUS YARN

PURPOSE:To obtain lustrous yarn of metallic luster, dyeable to a deep color and excellent in fastness by providing a thin-film layer of a metal, etc., on a plastic film surface by vapor deposition, further forming a transparent resin layer dyeable with an acid dye and slitting the prepared laminate. CONSTITUTION:Lustrous yarn having metallic luster is obtained by providing a thin-film layer of about 30-80nm thickness on one or both surfaces of a plastic film preferably polyethylene naphthalene-dicarboxylate based polyester film by vapor deposition of a metal (preferred example; aluminum or silver) or a metallic compound (preferred example; chromium steel) and further forming a resin layer composed of a blended resin, etc., of a transparent resin dyeable with an acid dye and a thermosetting resin, preferably a polyamine resin, a urea resin and an epoxy resin on both the surfaces, providing a laminate and micro-slitting the resultant laminate. The obtained lustrous yarn can be dyed to a deep color with the acid dye and is excellent in resistance to washing and dry-cleaning and further widely applied to woven, knit fabrics, etc.
