CONNECTOR

PURPOSE:To detect the imperfect insertion of a terminal by forming in order an engaging hole to a flexible locking piece and a deflection prevention part in a slide direction on a spacer. CONSTITUTION:In inserting a terminal 25 in a terminal housing chamber 5 from the opening 24 of a rear wall 23, a tip part 6b is deflected in the engaging hole 20 of the slide plate 16 of a spacer 4 in a flexible locking piece 6 whose protruded part 6a is pushed with the terminal 25. In the so-called imperfect insertion, in which the terminal 25 is unable to be inserted, in this condition, even the forced pushing-in of the spacer 4 in an arrow X direction causes the abutting of the inner wall surface 26 of the engaging hole 20 of a slide plate 16 with the one side side surface 9a of the flexible locking piece 6. Moreover the other side side surface 9 of the flexible locking piece 6 is abuts against the inner wall surface (abutting wall part) 8 of a housing main body 2 to be stopped, consequently the spacer 4 can not be pushed in. This can detect the imperfect insertion of the terminal 25 and eliminate the breakage of the flexible locking piece 9.
