CHECKERED STEEL PLATE AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To produce a checkered steel plate even from a slab of ultralow carbon steel stock by subjecting a slab of ultralow carbon steel with specific C content to hot rolling under the temp. conditions where heating temp., finish ing mill outlet side temp., and coiling temp. are specified, respectively. CONSTITUTION:In a method for producing a checkered steel plate of hot rolled steel strip, a slab of ultralow carbon steel stock having 0.001-0.010wt.% C content is used. Further, the checkered steel plate is produced by using the above slab under the rolling temp. conditions of 1200+ or -50 deg.C heating temp., 900+ or -30 deg.C finishing mill outlet side temp., and 450+ or -50 deg.C coiling temp. By this method, the production of the chekered steel plate so far impossible except by using a low carbon steel slab alone can be done even by using a slab of ultralow carbon steel stock by regulating the temp. conditions at the time of hot rolling to optimum ranges, respectively. Moreover, a manufacturing process is shortened and the number of days required for manufacture are reduced, and further, resource saving is attained as a result of the extension of application range of the slab as a stock.
