Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To stabilize feed, transport, and release of sheet, in an electrophotographic printer which feeds and transports the sheet by air pressure, by detecting air permeability of the sheet and controlling air pressure of a sheet feeder or a carrier device according to the air permeability. CONSTITUTION:A sheet 1 floated by a sheet separating nozzle 2b is attracted to a sheet feed belt 2a and a pad 3a. Air permeability of the sheet is detected by a measuring device 3b. The detected air permeability is sent to a flow control valve 9 between a blower 10 and the sheet separating nozzle 2b, the flow control valve 9 between the blower 10, a sheet feed belt 2Q, and a carrier belt 7, a transfer device 6b, and a static eliminator 6c through a calculating and control device 4 to change and control air pressure of each part to the optimum value.
