Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To prevent decrease in a data transmission capability and deterioration in the line utilizing efficiency by receiving a data sent periodically as part of regular operation by the controller itself and checking whether or not the received data is coincident with the sent data. CONSTITUTION:Each terminal equipment 3 is provided with a watchdog timer to monitor a polling from central computers 1, 2 and a current central computer 1 sends a UI frame designating a global address to reset all watchdog timers at once at a predetermined time interval. The UI frame has a global address to designate all terminal equipments 3 as a transmission destination address and has a code to designate the reset of the watchdog timer in the range of information. When a watchdog timer is not reset within a predetermined time, each terminal equipment 3 discriminates it to be the occurrence of a fault and takes a required countermeasure. Thus, the decrease in a data transmission capability and deterioration in the line utilizing efficiency are prevented.
