NEEDLE OPERATING DEVICE FOR PELTON WHEEL

PURPOSE:To provide a device capable of enduring against a high pressure caused by a water thrust force and of which size can be reduced by a method wherein an electrical operating gear reducer is operated to rotate a driving shaft, a needle is reciprocated and a degree of opening of the needle is adjusted. CONSTITUTION:When an electrical driving gear reducer 20 is operated, a needle 6 is axially reciprocated through a driving shaft 13, bevel gears 14, 15 and a needle threaded shaft 16 and a degree of opening of a nozzle pipe 4 is varied. Thrust force got through the reciprocating movement can be optionally selected by varying a pitch of each of male thread and female thread or by varying a speed reduction ratio of bevel gears. In this case, a nozzle pipe 4 is disposed within a runner housing 3. An electrical driving gear reducer 20 is connected to an upper end of a driving shaft 13 crossed at a right angle with an axis of the needle 6 and passing through an upper cover 12. The needle 6 having a female thread engaging with a male thread of the screw shaft 16 and a screw shaft supporting rod 18 for supporting an axial thrust force of the screw shaft 16 are provided.
