RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE FOR DIGITAL DATA

PURPOSE:To surely detect abnormality on recording at an early stage without comparing match of all of recording data by encoding or correcting the error correcting codes and detecting generation of incorrectable state from the error generating state of C1 series or from the error correcting state of C2 correction. CONSTITUTION:The reproduction encoded data obtd. in a data reverse converter 15 is processed for error correction in C1 and C2 series and for subdata error correction, while a incorrectable detecting part 20 counts the error number on correcting C1 and detects the incorrectable state on correcting C2. By discriminating whether an incorrectable state of C1, C2 occurs or not, and when an incorrectable state is detected, the date is processed for rewriting since the possibility of incorrect data recorded is very high. Thus, the detecting the generation of burst error from the error state of C1, C2 series, incorrectable state can be judged. Thereby, abnormality of recording can be detected at an early stage.
