Cu ions by adding a small amt. of a specified arom. amino acid to the soln. CONSTITUTION:An amino acid having an arom. ring represented by the formula (where !W is an arom. group, preferably phenyl, oxyphenyl or indole), e.g., tyrosine or phenylalanine is added to an acidic aq. hydrogen peroxide soln. contg. Cu ions and having 10-150g/l concn. of H.0. and 10-200g/l concn. of an acid, usually sulfuric acid to stabilize the soln. The amt. of the amino acid added is about 0.01-50g/l, preferably about 0.1-10g/l.
