Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To make it possible to manufacture an antibody which is specific for Treponema pallidum simply in high purity by immunizing an animal with refined antigen obtained from the extract of Treponema pallidum by using hydroxyapatite gel. CONSTITUTION:The extract of Treponema pallidum is coarsely manufactured by ion exchange chromatography. Protein containing antigen is adsorbed with hydroxyapatite gel. Then, the adsorbed material in the ranges of pH of 5.5 - 10.0 and ion strength of 50 - 150mM is eluted. Thus, the refined antigen is obtained. Thereafter, an animal is immunized with the refined antigen together with a material (adjuvant) having the immunity reinforcing action. The animal which can be utilized as an ordinary immunity animal such as a house rabbit and a rat can be used. The adjuvant is made to be the adjuvant whose Freund is complete or incomplete, aluminum hydroxide or the like. The antibody obtained by the immunization is used as the intact state of antiserum or in the refined state.
