Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To prevent clogging and to improve liquid permeability when a hydroxyapatite aggregate is used as a packing material for separation by making hydroxyapatite aggregate into hexagonal piller or needle-like state and controlling the pore volume to a specified range. CONSTITUTION:This hydroxyapatite aggregate is hexagonal piller-like or needle- like state in form and has 1-5ml/g pore volume. The hydroxyapatite aggregate is prepared by synthesizing hexagonal or needle-like crystal of monetite, adding KOH or LiOH thereto, and heat-treating for hydroxylation. Thus, the hydroxyapatite aggregate having hexagonal or needle-like state and the pore volume in the above range is obtd. This hydroxyapatite aggregate is especially useful as a packing material for chromatographic separation of biopolymers such as protein, enzyme, etc.
