Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To improve emission luminance, dispersibility and pigment adhesion by coating the surface of a mother phosphor contg. specified amt. of Mg and/or Li with a pigment. CONSTITUTION:A mother phosphor fired pref. at 920-980 deg.C and contg. 10ppm or more Mg and/or Li is dispersed in pure water to obtain a phosphor dispersion. Then, a pigment is dispersed in this dispersion and the pH is adjusted to 3.0-6.0 to coat the surface of the phosphor with the pigment to thereby obtain the title phosphor. A phosphor film produced from this phosphor is placed on the inner face of a panel constituting an outer surrounding device to obtain a cathode-ray tube.
