Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To reduce a man power and a cost required for steel frame processing by a method wherein the joint part of a steel frame used as the column of a building is processed in a desired shape through high frequency induction heating. CONSTITUTION:A steel pipe 21 is cut to a given length, and the one end part thereof is heated by a plurality of high frequency induction heating coils 30. By using a mold 31, press drawing is applied on one end part of the steel pipe 21 to form a tapered joint part 23. After local reheating is applied only on the upper and lower parts of the joint part 23 by means of the high frequency induction heating coils 30, the steel pipe 21 is axially compressed. This method expands a heated part to form a rib 24, and the beveling shapes of the tip of the steel pipe 21 and the outer peripheral surface of the rib 24 can be machined. |
