PURPOSE:To vary the range visual field depending on range information, by making a pattern signal variable in response to the range information and displaying the range visual field on an electronic view finder with an output of a pattern signal generator. CONSTITUTION:The pattern signal generator 3 generates a signal representing the range visual field on a display plane when an input is given to the electronic view finder 2. Range information from an external range finder 5 is given to the generator 3 and also given to a pickup lens system 6 to determine the focusing position. The information representing the range visual field is displayed on the finder 2 by generating a pattern signal corresponding to the frame representing the range visual field as the signal from the generator 3. The range visual field variable for the position or magnitude is displayed on the finder 2 depending on the range information by controlling the generagor 3 according to the range information.
