FACSIMILE DEVICE

PURPOSE:To set the inclination of a document tray larger to enable sufficient loading length of a document and feed even a thick document smoothly by engaging both ends of wire members in guide grooves of document regulating guides so that both the ends can turn in the grooves. CONSTITUTION:When a document 7 is transferred, after a document tray 3A made of wire members is set and the document 7 is loaded on it, a pair of document regulating guides are operated to be moved in the opposite directions to arrange the width of the document. Then, when a start-switch is operated to rotate a paper feed roller 8 in the arrow direction, characters, etc., on the document 7 are photoelectronically read while the document is caught between the roller 8 and a separating piece 9 one at a time from the lower--most one of the documents 7 as usual. In this case, since the whole length of the document tray 3A is relatively long and its inclination is sufficiently larger than conventional, the document 7 is automatically fed to the side of the roller 8 by gravity even when it is thick. Furthermore, the feed of the document can be performed smoothly and quickly regardless of the thickness of a paper sheet.
