DIMENSION STABILIZING METHOD FOR TIMBER

PURPOSE:To upgrade the dimension stability of a timber and process by a simple means by impregnating the timber with latex simultaneously with mothproofing. CONSTITUTION:For impregnating a timber with latex, pressure reducing - pressurizing method in which water solution of latex is used as impregnating solution is utilized, or the immersion method or the like is applied under the optional conditions to impregnate the timber. The concentration of latex should be 0.2wt.% or more, and if necessary, it is preferable to add water therein to lower viscosity. Viscosity should preferably be 20-500cp. The impregnating process is carried out simultaneously with the mothproofing process applied at the time of cutting a log, and injection is carried out together with, for instance, an organic phosphorous insecticide, pyrethroid insecticide or the like. The possibility of dimensional distortion of the timber is reduced by said arrangement to stabilize the dimension of timber.
