AIR PURIFYING APPARATUS FOR VEHICLE

PURPOSE:To rapidly replace the air in a compartment by opening a valve by a drive means when the pollution level of air is detected by an air pollution level detection sensor to discharge the air in the compartment to the outside of a car through an exhaust passage. CONSTITUTION:A fan 15 and a purifying unit 16 are built in the casing 10 of an air purifier 9 and the exhaust port 17 communicating with the exhaust passage provided outside a compartment is formed between the fan 15 and purifying unit 16 in the casing 10, and a valve 19 for opening and closing the exhaust port 17 and the drive means 18 operating the valve 19 are provided. When the pollution level of air is detected by an air pollution level detection sensor 21 detecting the pollution level of the air in the compartment, the valve 19 is opened by the drive means 18 to discharge the air in the compartment to the outside of a car through the exhaust passage outside the compartment. As a result, the extremely polluted air in the compartment is instantaneously discharged to the outside of the car to make it possible to rapidly replace the air in the compartment and the capacity of the purifying unit can be kept for a long period of time.
