METHOD FOR ATTACHING PLUG-IN CABLE HEAD

PURPOSE:To prevent generation of metal powder, and to eliminate deterioration in electric performance of a cable head by a cable head assembling work by previously laying an insulating sheet along the inner surface of a wall tube insulator, and eliminating contact of metal contact terminal of the head directly with the inner surface of the insulator. CONSTITUTION:An epoxy wall tube insulator 1 is associated with a case 2 of a power device. After a work of compressing a contact terminal 4 to a conductor 3a of a cable 3 is conducted, the terminal 4 at the end is inserted into the insulator 1. A working insulating cylinder 5 is previously laid along the inner surface of the insulator 1 so as not to bring the terminal 4 into contact with the interior of the tube 1, and the cable 3 is inserted into the insulator 1. The cylinder 5 is removed immediately before the terminal 4 reaches a contactor 6 on the side of the insulator, and then the contactor 4 is fitted into the contactor 6. This mounting method prevents direct contact of the terminal 4 with the inner surface of the insulator 1, and adherence of metal powder of the terminal 4 within the interior of the insulator.
