CONSTITUTION:Steel parts W carburized or heated without oxidizing in a continuous gas carburizing furnace 1 are hardened with hot hardening oil O1 in a first oil tank 10A. The hardened parts W are washed with low viscosity hardening oil O2 in a second oil tank 10B and further washed with an alkali washing soln. O3 in an alkali washing tank 14. Hardening strain produced in the treated parts can be made small.
