APPARATUS FOR CONTINUOUSLY CASTING STRIP

PURPOSE:To stable execute the continuous casting of a steel strip by setting endless belts for forming mold long side prepared by laminating multiple thin metal plates facing each other and winding endless belts for forming short side around end parts of the belts for long side to constitute a thin mold. CONSTITUTION:One set of the thin metal plate laminated layer endless belts 5a, 5b for forming mold long side constituted by being wound around guide rolls 6, 7, 8, 9, are set as facing leaving a small interval from each other. The thin metal plate laminated layer endless belts 19a, 19b for forming mold short side constituted as the same way, are wound on both end parts of the endless belts 5a, 5b for forming mold long side, and the endless belts 19a, 19b for forming short side are positioned on both sides of the faced endless belts 5a, 5b to constitute the thin mold. By this method, the continuous casting apparatus having long service life by which dimension of the strip thickness and strip width is variable, can be obtd.
