DOCUMENT PREPARING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To automatically convert a hand-written document to printing plate data by directly proofreading image data as necessary while successively confirming conversion flaws of image data by the screen on a display device. CONSTITUTION:An image data proofreading part 8 displays a part or the whole of standard character pattern data, which is stored in a resembling character pattern data storage part 7, in the lowest row on the screen of a display device 4 through an image control part 3 by a pattern collating part 5 correspondingly to a character to be proofread. An operator selects proper character pattern data from resembling character pattern data displayed on the screen of the display device 4 and inputs select information from a keyboard device 9 to substitute the character with selected character pattern data. Completely proofread image data is stored in a storage device as printing plate data by a printing plate data storing part 10. Thus, the hand-written document is automatically converted to printing plate data.
