DOUBLE-NEEDLE SEWING MACHINE WITH SINGLE-NEEDLE HALTING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To perform a beautiful curved sewing without troublesome operation by providing a controller which releases a single-needle halting device every specified count number of stitches while a single stitch is made. CONSTITUTION:Two needles are brought in sewing action together to form the same number of stitches from the beginning up to the position A and after the position B. Between the positions A and B, the needle on the right forms lass number of stitches than the needle on the left does. In such curve sewing, the outside and inside curves usually consist of the same number of stitches of the left and right needles, however, the inside curve has less number of stitches than the outside curve, for example, four stitches for the outside curve against two stiches for the inside curve. Thus, the number of actions of a needle bar, which does not receive a halting instruction, against one action of the other needle bar which receives the halting instruction, and the number of repeating action are set by a stitch number setting device 4, and those signals are input to a central processor 9. A program is designed so that stitch omission and repeating action of the specified number are executed.
