Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To reduce the cost, size and weight by dividing a detection area into mXn sets, obtaining a brightness gravity center of each divided area and obtaining a moving vector from a difference of each division between 1st and 2nd fields so as to correct the position of a picture. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer 12 fetches a digital data outputted from an A/D converter 11. Then a brightness gravity center position of each mXn divisions resulting from dividing the detection area by (m) in the X axis direction and by (n) in the Y axis direction is obtained by a count of a horizontal synchronizing signal (HD) 9 from the data. Then a difference of the brightness gravity center of the same divisions of the 1st and 2nd fields is obtained and a moving vector between the fields is obtained from the difference of the gravity center positions. When any fluctuation exists in the pattern depending on 1st and 2nd arithmetic operations, a true moving vector between fields is obtained from the difference of the gravity center position in the nXm divisions between the fields as the calculation of the picture moving quantity.
