PHASE CHANGE TYPE OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM

PURPOSE:To improve repetitive recording characteristics, erasing characteristics and long-term preservable property by constituting the recording medium of a substrate, underlying layer, adhesion intensifying layer, recording layer, adhesion intensifying layer, protective layer, and reflection layer. CONSTITUTION:The underlying layer 2, the adhesion intensifying layer 3, the recording layer 4, the adhesion intensifying layer 5, the protective layer 6, and the reflection layer 7 are formed on the substrate 1. Polycarbonate, PMMA, polyolefin, grooved glass, etc., are used for the substrate 1. The underlying layer 2 and the protective layer 6 are formed of various transparent dielectrics or the mixtures composed thereof, for example, Si3N4, SiO, AlN, Ta2O5, TiO2, ZrO2, etc. The adhesion intensifying layers 3, 5 consist of the various transparent dielectrics, for example, ZnS, ZnSe, SiO2, CdS, In2O3, etc. The reflection layer 7 consists of Al, Au, Si, Ni-Cr, etc. A Ge-Sb-Te alloy, etc., are used for the recording layer 4.
