PICTURE PROCESSING METHOD

PURPOSE:To quickly obtain a desired picture by setting a processing area which has picture information related to picture information of density data or the like of a specific point, which is designated in a desired area of an original picture, in a certain condition. CONSTITUTION:A processing area 52 to be subjected to desired picture processing is set in a specific area 50. A CPU reads out picture data (r), (g), and (b) of the original picture 44 corresponding to a specific point 46 from an original picture storage part with respect to each color. A look up table is generated in accordance with these picture data (r), (g), and (b) and preliminarily set density width DELTAr, DELTAg, and DELTAb. This look up table is used to convert the original picture 44 in the specific area 50. Mask data of respective colors R, G, and B are generated. Thus, a desired picture processing range is easily set.
