OIL LEVEL GAGE

PURPOSE:To make it possible to operate a clamp member remotely and to facilitate an operation of takeout and insertion of a gage by a construction wherein a tool connecting part to be fitted on and removed from the fore end of a tool is provided in a cap part and an insertion guide face cooperating with the inside-diameter surface of an oil filler tube is provided below the cap part. CONSTITUTION:A gage part 1, a cap part 2, a plug part 3 provided in continuation to the lower part of the cap part 2, and a tool connecting part 4 connected to the upper part of the cap part 2, are equipped, and further an insertion guide face 5 joining the plug part 4 and the gage part 1 together through the intermediary of a chamfered part 31 is provided below the plug part 4. When the gage part 1 is inserted into an oil filler tube T, the insertion guide face 5 cooperates with the inside-diameter surface of the filler tube T, so as to execute a centering action for the cap part 2, and thereby a flexible clamp member C attached to the filler tube T and the cap part 2 are made to engage with each other precisely and reliably at a prescribed position.
