Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To improve the wear and corrosion resistances of a roll in a molten Zn bath by forming a coating layer of a self-fluxing alloy on the surface of the roll and cutting grooves in the coating layer in the peripheral direction of the roll. CONSTITUTION:A thermally sprayed layer of a self-fluxing alloy is formed on the surface of a roll in a molten Zn bath in a hot dip galvanizing line, and narrow grooves are cut in the thermally sprayed layer in the peripheral direction of the roll. The self-fluxing alloy has wear resistance at high temp. and is not corroded by molten Zn. The thickness of the thermally sprayed layer is made about 1.5-6 times as large as the depth of the grooves. The layer exfoliates hardly and grooves can be cut again when the surface of the layer is worn.
