Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain a photopolymerizable element superior in resolution and linearity and small in the staining of a developing solution and a plating bath by incorporating a bisacridine compound having 2 acridyl groups in one molecule as a photoinitiator in a composition containing a compound having an ethylenically unsaturated groups. CONSTITUTION:This photopolymerizable composition composed of (a) 100pts.wt. of the compound having at least one ethylenically unsaturated group, (b) 0 - 400pts.wt. of a thermosetting polymer, and (c) 0.01 - 20pts.wt. of the photoinitiator, such as the acridine compound represented by general formula I in which R is a 2 - 20C alkylene, oxadialkylene, or thiodialkylene group. This photopolymerizable composition is used for a photosetting coating material, a photosetting ink, a photosensitive printing plate, a photoresist, a dry film, an electrodeposited photoresist, etc. As the light source of active light to be used at the time of photosetting, that emitting 300 - 450nm wavelength light, such as mercury vapor arc, carbon arc, xenon arc, etc., are used.
