COOLING DEVICE OF PLENUM CHAMBER

PURPOSE:To uniformly discharge cooling flow and to execute uniform cooling by providing a flow straighting plate in the inlet part of a plenum chamber and connecting guide vanes provided in the curved part of a flow passage to a partition plate and this flow straighting plate. CONSTITUTION:The perforated flow straighting plate 1 is installed in the inlet part of the plenum chamber 2 connected to a circulating duct 5. The plenum chamber is provided with 3 pieces of the guide vanes 4 which are connected at one end to the flow straighting plate 1, extend horizontally and are bent downward in corner parts 2a. The other ends of two pieces of the outer guide vanes 4 are connected to the partition plate 3. The cooling gas entering from a circulating duct 5 to the plenum chamber 2 is straighted in flow by the flow straighting plate 1 in the inlet part to have a uniform flow velocity distribution so that the gas flows at an equal flow velocity in the respective flow passages. Then the cooling gas 6 is discharged evenly from plural circular hole nozzles (not shown in Fig.) of the plenum chamber 2 toward a strip and the strip is uniformly cooled.
