Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To enhance heat resistance, in porous synthetic paper formed by applying stretching treatment to a composition consisting of a synthetic resin and a filler, by subjecting the synthetic resin composition to crosslinking treatment by electron beam. CONSTITUTION:Porous synthetic resin paper is obtained by a method wherein a composition consisting of a thermoplastic resin such as polypropylene and an inorg. filler is melted and kneaded to be formed into a film by an extrusion film forming method and the formed film is stretched in the longitudinal direction thereof to form a core material and, continuously, a film composed of the same composition is extruded to be laminated to both surfaces of the core material and this laminate is stretched in the lateral direction thereof. The obtained porous synthetic paper is subjected to crosslinking treatment by electron beam. In the crosslinking treatment of the synthetic paper by electron beam, it is pref. to preliminarily add an electron beam crosslinkable component to the synthetic paper before the irradiation with electron beam. By this method, the heat resistance of the synthetic paper is enhanced and a thermal transfer image receiving sheet excellent in heat resistance is obtained by the use of the synthetic paper as a base material sheet.
