NAVIGATION DISPLAY DEVICE FOR VEHICLE

PURPOSE:To enable map information to be display stably and achieve a high- quality navigation display by performing rotary control of direction of the map information which is displayed by detection output from a direction detection means with hysteresis. CONSTITUTION:When an advancing direction index signal from a direction detection means 5 is input, a direction angle calculation means 6 obtains the advancing direction angle from a part on a screen. The obtained advancing direction angle is input to a judgment means 7, thus enabling a map screen to be switched when there is an advancing direction change exceeding a prescribed angle 45 deg. + hysteresis theta. Therefore, a threshold point for switching the map screen has a buffer property, thus preventing the map screen from being changed by track change etc., and enabling the map screen to be stable. Therefore, a user can recognize the current location or a destination easily.
