MAGNETIC RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To edit a program while setting optimum picture quality or sound quality respectively to plural edition scenes by controlling the picture quality of a video circuit and the sound quality of an audio circuit according to control data stored at the address, which is designated from the outside, of a memory. CONSTITUTION:When executing the program edition to the plural editing scenes of a video tape, the control data of a video circuit 6 and an audio circuit 7 for obtaining the optimum picture quality and sound quality for each editing scene are stored in a memory 4 in advance. When recording the editing scenes of a master tape into a slave tape, the addresses of the memory 4 corresponding to the respective editing scenes are instructed from an edition controller to a reproducing machine, and the reproducing machine reads out the control data of the video circuit 6 and the audio circuit 7 and sets the picture quality of the video circuit 6 and the sound quality of the audio circuit 7. Thus, program edition can be executed while setting the respective editing scenes to the optimum picture quality and sound quality.
