Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To prevent slippage of printing positions and to reduce resultant damages by a method wherein each of combinations of carrying roller mechanisms is driven independently and feeding speed of a plurality of sheets in a carrying passage is made changeable independently. CONSTITUTION:Carrying rollers 5, 6, 7 are driven by independent driving power sources so that the revolution speed thereof can be varied independently, and are operated normally for control of sheet feeding. In the case where slippage occurs in a sheet-feeding hopper 1, a controller measures the delay of the sheet feeding from an expected time by watching the period of time from the start of operation of a sheet-feeding roller 3 to the arrival of the front end of the sheet at a sheet sensor 18. If the time lag is large, exceeding a specified value, the position of the sheet is corrected by accelerating the revolution speeds of the carrying rollers (a) 5 and (b) 6 so that the sheet-feeding speed is restored to meet the specified timing.
