COLOR FORMING PAPER FOR PRESSURE-SENSITIVE COPY

PURPOSE:To obtain the title color forming paper excellent in stability with the elapse of time such as humidity resistance and printability by adding an aqueous solution of an alkali salt of a methacrylic acid type copolymer having specific surface tension to a color forming layer. CONSTITUTION:A color forming layer containing an org. color former is provided on a support and this color forming layer contains an alkali salt of a methacrylic acid type whose 1wt.% aqueous solution has surface tension of 40dyne/cm. This alkali salt of the methacrylic acid type copolymer is an alkali salt of a copolymer obtained by copolymerizing methacrylic acid and at least one or more kind of a monomer copolymerizable therewith and the surface tension of this water soluble copolymer is appropriately adjusted according to the kind and compositional ratio of a monomer to be copolymerized, a degree of polymerization, the kind and use amount of a polymerization aid such as a polymerization initiator, a polymerization controller or an emulsifier, the degree of neutralization of the copolymer, the kind of a neutralizing agent, pH, viscosity or measuring temp. The surface tension of a 1wt.% aqueous solution is pref. 45-72dyne/cm.
