Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To prevent the seeping up of an electrolyte for a long period by polishing the outer periphery of a lead bushing closely stuck to a resin material constituting a battery jar cover, then using the lead bushing as an insert to form the battery jar cover. CONSTITUTION:Grooves 2 are formed on the outer periphery of a lead bushing 1 used, and a through hole 3 for inserting an electrode pole is provided at the center. The whole outer periphery of the lead bushing 1 is polished with a resin brush or a metal brush. The polished lead bushing 1 is used as an insert to injection-molding a polypropylene battery jar cover. The electrode pole is guided into the through hole 3, and the electrode pole is integrally welded to the lead bushing 1. When an acceleration test was performed on a lead-acid battery with the above battery jar cover, a result equivalent to 20 years or above was obtained for the prevention of the seeping up of an electrolyte.
