Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To improve the connecting and disconnecting performance of a multiple disc clutch by forming a clutch plate of a multiple disc clutch incorporated in a sheet metal drum using a member which is a cold-rolled steel and has a hardness within a specified range, as raw material and by press punching. CONSTITUTION:A multiple disc clutch 10 is adapted to perform connection and disconnection for power between an input shaft 12 coupled to the output side of a torque converter and a carrier 14 of the first planetary gear 14. A driving clutch plate 10CI and a driven clutch plate 10C0 are formed using cold- rolled steel JISSPCC-2B or JISSPCC-4B as raw material, the hardness of which are HRB65-90 and formed by press punching from the plate raw material. Thus, the connection and disconnection performance of a multiple disc clutch can be improved, and the die life can be lengthened to reduce the cost.
