TENSION INTRODUCING METHOD FOR TENSION CHORD BEAM ROOF

PURPOSE:To shorten the period of construction by simultaneously introducing a tension which is lower than an optimum tension adapted to be finally applied, to chord members after building of a roof structure body but before finishing work so that the roof structure body floats up and becomes self-standing. CONSTITUTION:Upon construction of a roof structure body composed of large beams 1 and secondary members, the large beams 1 are supported at its one end by a temporary frame base built below the center section and at its the other end by a side wall part 5 laid on the outer peripheral side. Tension applying devices which are fixed to fixing parts between tension rings 2a and the chord members 3 are operated so as to simultaneously introduce a tension which is lower than an optimum tension adapted to be finally applied, into the chord members 3, and accordingly, the roof structure body floats up and becomes self-standing. Then, a final finishing process is carried out, and accordingly, the tension of the chord member is optimized by addition of a weight to the roof structure body, thereby it is possible to shorten the period of construction.
